Marko Rodin is not a mathematician by trade, but has an interesting take on the numerology angle. His series of videos on vortex based mathematics and toroidal constructs (all 44 of them!) give you a mind boggling journey across a plethora of mathematical theories and subjects.
He covers computing (particularly binary), music (scales and notes) and just about any other subject that can be explained with the language of mathematics. The patterns are there for all to see, but it is the way in which he applies his theories to it that are key.
If you can sit through the whole 44 episodes, then you'll have done well. I got lost somewhere in the middle, although you do feel as if you understand, when the application of the theory is explained.
I think any serious mathematician will have questions, and be able to break it down and tear it apart, but it's the human angle that comes across to the layman, not the academic.
There is the God Particle that physics is exploring currently, but this is more the God Number that is being sought (or, rather, a series of numbers). His presentations are liberally scattered with ancient archaeological references, sacred geometry being a favourite. There is no doubt, that the builders of such monuments as stonehenge and the pryamids, possessed a knowledge of mathematics and engineering that we still don't fully understand, but Marko seems to offer a key to that knowledge. It's not Pythagoras, but the recurring themes of the patterns he presents, seem to hint at a more ancient knowledge.
With numerology more in the realms of new age than science, it's hard not to be sucked in. Nevertheless, there's something there, spirituality maybe, but it's best you watch it for yourself, and make your own mind up.
Take it with a pinch of salt (and i'm sure Marko can explain the crystalline structure of a grain of salt very easily!). And yes, he's very hairy man except for his head :-)
2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate?
